Coffee Steak Rub (Fresco Spice Blends): coffee, brown sugar, chili powder, red pepper flakes, unrefined sea salt & spices. Brown sugar is second on the label, so this one is sweeter than most rubs, and that last “& spices” isn’t itemized by the maker, so check the label if you’re avoiding something specific. To mix a similar blend, about 2 Tbsp: 1 Tbsp finely ground coffee, 2 tsp brown sugar, 1 tsp chili powder, and ½ tsp red pepper flake. Brown sugar scorches over high heat, so keep the oven moderate. Salt to taste.
Per-serving values are approximate and vary with brand, variety, and preparation.
