Rediscover the Joy of Movement
Play, not punishment, carries the habit.
Movement you enjoy is movement you keep. The shift is from “I have to exercise” to “I get to move.”
Why it matters
Movement can start to feel like an obligation, or a punishment for something eaten. It does not have to. Enjoyable activity becomes something to look forward to.
What to know
Look back at what you enjoyed before, and what made it fall away. Dancing in the kitchen, a walk with a friend, gardening, playing with your kids all count.
Try this
What did you truly enjoy, and what got in the way? No need to pick up exactly where you left off. Starting something new, or managing a condition, a pregnancy or an injury? Worth discussing with your doctor first.

Picture one thing you used to do just because it was fun. What made it fun, not just active?
