You are not meant to do this alone

Remember you are a connector, not a lone organizer. The strongest Champions build a small network of allies who share the work. In last year's Champion feedback, collaboration was the single biggest gap, and it is also the biggest opportunity. A little teamwork goes a long way.

Partners already in your building

You do not have to recruit from scratch. Look for people who already have momentum you can join:

• Your PE teacher, who may be you. The richest movement ally in most buildings.
• Your administrator. Can make a little time and space for wellness and set the tone.
• Other initiative champions and leaders. People already leading efforts that overlap with staff wellbeing.
• Other groups and committees. Any group that already gathers staff is a ready-made audience.
• Counselors and student groups. Natural partners for stress, connection, and events.

Pair with another Champion

Find one other Champion to be your partner for the year. Swap what works, share ideas, and check in on each other. Sharing the work keeps the energy up and spreads the load across the year. You do not have to know that Champion already; NuStart can help connect you.

How to start a partnership

• Make one specific, small ask, such as adding a five-minute stretch to the next staff meeting.
• Offer to do the heavy lifting so it is easy for the other person to say yes.
• Keep it small and repeatable, then build from what works.
